MARCH  2011

TRIP NOTES
Two planes left Santa Barbara on Thursday morning and four planes came down on Friday morning, in generally great weather. One plane went whale watching on Thursday, another on Friday, and yet another on Saturday afternoon. There were headwinds on the return trip.

MEDICAL CLINIC
Patients continued to arrive throughout most of the day.  Susan Grube coordinated triage while Margo Kenney and Terry Harris took vitals and recorded initial patient information.  Christine Gaskin rotated between vitals, doctors, and pharmacy.  Doctors Eric McFarland and Debbie Weinstein, with support from translators Teresita Carmello and Mark Langenour, were able to see and treat all who came.  Patsi Hodges was in charge of the pharmacy, with help from Janis Smith, Wendy McFarland, and Maddy Goodman.  Audiologist Bonnie Rettgers, with Cheri King translating, serviced all the grateful patients with hearing issues.  Felicity saw chiropractic patients.

DENTAL CLINIC
The dental clinic was fortunate to have three dentists and a hygienist. Chuck Moggio and Greg Scarcello did mostly fillings while John Grube did most of the extractions and one immediate denture. Claudia Langenour, her first trip, cleaned teeth and gave hygiene instruction. Malisa, Larry, and Jane assisted and Karen ran the sterilization. Marilyn Zellet kept things running smoothly with her triage.
